Independence of the Seas facts and figures

What exactly does it mean to be the largest cruise ship in the world? Well, Independence of the Seas is a record breaker in many ways. The vessel:

• Has 4,375 berths • Cost £400 million • Is 1,112ft long, which is 230ft longer than the Titanic • With her sisters, she’s the joint-largest cruise ship in the world, and she is the only one of her kind to be based in Britain. • Has nine restaurants, including a 2,000-seater dining room, and a 1,350-seat theatre, and a nine-hole miniature golf course • 1,360 crew work aboard her • 35 tonnes of ice are produced daily on board • Around 18,000 pizza slices are eaten on each week’s cruise.

And that’s what it means to be the largest cruise ship in the world!
