Number 1 - Royal Caribbean - Oasis of the Seas

This has to be the most talked out new cruise ship of 2009

Here are some facts on the Oasis of the Seas:

5,400 passengers, 2,700 staterooms, 16 decks high, 7 neighborhoods, 220,000 GRT and her home port will be at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The Royal Caribbean new cruise ship was first designed under the name ”Project Genesis”

She was ordered in February 2206, and currently getting built at STX Europe in Turku Finland. In May 2008 she was named Oasis of the Seas after a contest was held to name the new ship.

Number 2 - Carnival - Dream

This amazing new cruise ship called the Dream is planned to be one of the largest and most innovative floating resorts in The carnival “Fun ship” fleet. It will house the largest spa Carnival have ever built, a new indoor/outdoor entertainment complex called Ocean Plaza. The 3,646 passenger superliner is currently under construction Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

One of the most popular places on the ship is sure to be Carnival Waterworks. Part of our Evolutions of Fun program, Carnival Waterworks will include a dancing fountain, a variety of slides -- including the four-story Twister WaterslideTM.

Number 3 - Yachts of Seabourn - Odyssey

Currently 200 days, 16hrs and 17mins till launch.

This new cruise ship completely different from most cruising vessels being built today. She really is an elegant Italian yacht.

This state of the art new cruise ship will utilize eco-friendly best practice, and will surpass all previous high standards. While onboard there will be no problem staying fit, as a large range of cardio and strength training machines will be onboard to give everyone the toughest of workouts. The Odyssey will also have the now famous Seabourn’s industry highest crew to guest ratio.

Number 4 - Celebrity – Equinox

This new ship has all the potential to become my personal favourite ship, details of the ship are hard to come by, but there will be a choice of 10 exceptional dining venues, a first class Lawn Club, and of course the Celebrity’s unrivalled guest services.

Number 5 - Silversea Cruises - Silver Spirit

With one of the highest space-to guest ratios, the 540-passenger Silver Spirit cruise ship is currently under construction. The styling will be the brilliant chic 1930’s Art Deco; yet feature the latest modern innovations and maritime advancements. As Siversea’s latest flagship, its interiors will focus on high distinctive luxuries including an expanded spa and even larger suites - 95% featuring a private veranda.
