The Crown Princess made her way up the Mersey this week and she’s the biggest cruise liner ever to visit Liverpool. She’s on the first of four visits to the city as part of the Princess Cruise’s round Britain cruise programme which was launched last year by the Grand Princess. All 3,100 cabins on the ship have been fully booked for the cruise, with 70% of the passengers being American.
A spokesman for Princess Cruises says that the success of the cruises is down to the fact that “ …many people – including younger ones – don’t like flying and would rather take a cruise from the UK, even if it is around their own country …”
