As a result of the recent military coup in Honduras, British nationals are being advised by the U.K.'s Foreign and Commonwealth Office to postpone any non-essential travel to the Central American country. Those already in the country have further been advised to stay away from large gatherings and places of public protest
Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya appeared at the UN General Assembly yesterday and said that he would return to the country tomorrow with a group of heavyweight Latin American politicians, and serve out the remainder of his term – this may lead to further unrest if it happens. Cruise companies may reroute planned trips to the country until the travel advisory is lifted.
