UK cruise lines say they’ve received record-breaking early bookings for cruises in 2010 and 2011. Fred Olsen P&O Cruises and Cunard Line have all announced high levels of advance bookings with Cunard revealing that reservations for 2011 round-the-world cruises were 47% in advance of the bookings for 2010.
This suggests that people are planning far in advance for holidays, knowing that they may have less disposable income isn’t stopping them choosing their cruise, but rather, it’s encouraging them to book early so that they know what they are saving for and can anticipate their holiday for a long time in advance. UK cruises are proving very popular because people don’t have to organise air transport or accommodation and that’s both a saving in money and a saving in hassle.
