While NCL has been my preference of cruise ships, in 2006 the Norwegian Jewel prepared (?) the worst food I've ever eaten. But when I found out that many of the best employees went to the new Norwegian Pearl I decided to given the Pearl a try. WRONG! I ordered a roast beef sandwich to eat in my stateroom. Orlando, the butler, threw the tray on my table and left. When I opened up the cover, I knew why. The roast beef was raw, with chunks of cold fat hanging from it. It had bled threw the bread which was now soggy blood. I immediately called Orlando back, showed him the food, and asked for a sandrwich where the meat was actually cook. He grabbed the tray, and then returned some time later sarcastically asking me if this sandwich was edible. Now I didn't pay $4700 for a penthouse suite to be treated this way. Instead I went to the Blue Lagoon restaurant which is advertised as a 24/7 open restaurant. I was then advised by a waitress that the grills are shut down between 4a and 6a and I should have known that. Info from stateroom notebook and letter from concierge stated Blue Lagoon 24/7.
