This 4 night trip to the Bahamas was amazing. About a month before our trip we were upgraded to a demi-suite which included VIP embarkation. So when we arrived, we passed all the lines and we were on the ship within 15 minutes. Our suite was amazing and Dora our housekeeper was sweet and funny and overall wonderful.
We ate dinner all 4 nights in the Fantasy Dining Room and Herry was our waiter. The food was good, but not great the first 2 nights. However the last 2 nights, it was incredible (the Turkey and Dressing and then Veal Parm). We ate the Taste of Nations buffet on the Lido deck all four days as well and we were pleasantly surprised. Also the Deli was pretty good and the pizza was okay. We never ate burgers or hot dogs, so I can't comment on that.
After reading other reviews we had decided to only do 1 excursion through Carnival. We went scuba diving in Freeport. It was amazing. There was only 1 other person in our group. We actually got to dive in the shark area. It was amazing. The only thing is I wish we had done an Atlantis excursion in Nassau because we were stuck just strolling along by ourselves. The Atlantis is huge. We left Atlantis kinda feeling like we had wasted our time (and $20 on beach chairs).
The entertainment on the ship was okay. It seemed that the "Club" was either always playing disco or hip hop (I am not a big fan of either one). We did make it to 1 show on the last night and that was okay, but I've seen better dancing on Dancing with the Stars. However, the comedians were truly hysterical at the late-night shows. I highly suggest going down to the Plaza Lounge for that. However, most of the time we sat perched at the Polo Lounge with Slava (who really made our trip). He is someone I will always remember.
Overall, we had an exquisite time and we wish we could go back right now. We are definately planning on cruising again and now thanks to our excursion we are going to become certified divers.
