We took a Western Mediterranean cruise flying to Palma then Ibiza, Alicante, Malaga, and Cadiz. Plus points. Very cost effective cruising, very relaxed atmosphere. Minus points. Escape is a rather elderly ship and you don't get the frills, bells and whistles you get on ships twenty something years younger and this is a a very traditional itinerary, with big, bustling ports that have been visited (some might say overvisted) for more than forty years. Having said that, the staff on Escape were great, very helpful and if you like fairly standard activities (bingo and such like) there's fun to be had. To get the best from the ship and the ports, avoid organised excursion in these well known safe ports and try to eat in one of the dining spots that is less patronised. There is an issue with seating for dinner and if you eat early or late you'll probably get seated quicker.
