Star is a ship for those who like deck activities and fun. Her ‘big’ pool is flanked on the aft end by a pair of twisty slides, and at each end with hot tubs and there’s an indoor lap pool in the Barong Spa measuring forty feet by thirteen. Then there’s the incredibly popular Kid's Pool, with two rocket-shaped slides, a wading pool and a kid-sized hot tub – take note though that it isn’t limited to the children in the Kid's Krew programme or children with parental supervision, it’s open access to all adults. Norwegian Star is a huge vessel, three and a half laps of the jogging track is a mile and that needs to be factored into dinner choices, arrive late for your reserved table and you might find you’ve been bumped. Interestingly, one complaint about this ship that comes up fairly often is that staff who get a mandatory tip like room service and table staff (it’s added to the bill regardless) are nowhere near as helpful as those who don’t, such as the bar staff..
