Ocean Village holidays pride themselves on not having any of the ‘stuffiness’ that can be associated with traditional cruises
Instead the concept focuses on casual dress, sporty activities, eating when you please, and entertainment provided by stand-up comics and rock groups. Casual is key – not a sing restaurant has a dress code and there are no formal evenings, so this is the perfect cruise line for carefree travellers. One key feature of this line though, is NO CABIN SERVICE, and so, while you can make tea and coffee, there’s no dining in your cabin. Food on this line ranges from the superbly up-market (in The Bistro) to what is often described by reviewers as ‘canteen-style’ in the self-service restaurants, so be sure before you travel that you can afford to eat upscale if you get fed up with the lesser options!
Ocean Village
Refurbished to suit a British market in 2003, this ship is designed specifically for a younger market of couples and families who are happy with self-service food and enjoy active entertainment and excursions that focus on more sporty and demanding activities such as quad-biking, mountain-hiking and boogie-boarding.
